Viking Tattoo evidence
There is no concrete evidence for Viking tattoos until the day they find some well preserved Viking in a Glacier like they found Otzi but until then we have:
Ibn Fadlan, some arabic Guy who wrote (in his Risala) about some trading 'Rus' Vikings that came along the Volga wrote about things he observed about their culture, most significantly a burial ceremony, how horse were killed etc.
But he also noted down nice what he considered odd little things about these Vikings
Para 81. Each man has an axe, a sword, and a knife and keeps each by him at all times. The swords are broad and grooved, of Frankish sort. Every man is tattooed from finger nails to neck with dark green (or green or blue-black) trees, figures, etc.
According to Viking answer Lady:
The Arabic word for the color of the tattoos can mean green, blue or black. Almost certainly these were dark blue tattoos, created using wood ash as the dyeing agent.
Ibn Fadlan calls the designs "trees", but it is highly likely that he is actually describing knotwork patterns that were so common in northern art.
Also:
Some nice physical evidence: (from Slöinge)

This is a set of stray finds, Glass beads, refuse from manufacturing of beads, gold foil figure and a tattoo needle.

Re: Viking Tattoo evidence
Pretty much.
So as long as it's only Viking period and you get it done with the same method I got mine done. (which just happens to hurt less as well)
