Summer Events

Post  James on Fri May 15, 2009 9:15 pm

I thought I'd compile a list of Summer events, with a brief synopsis of each, so everyone can get a better idea of whats happening.

I think this is easier then just throwing out random place names and trying to get numbers.

Events List

Dungarven 16th May
Museum gig – Viking/Irish - Small display – Expenses covered.

Duncannon Fort 30th May - 1st June
Mostly WWII – Go As Whatever – Fighting – Free BBQ Sunday night
Bring own food and drink

Kilcully – Scout Camp 12th - 14th June
Crafts Saturday – Fighting Sunday – Food provided (no alcohol in camp, but pub nearby)
Viking- Irish- Norman

Bunratty 27th - 28th June
Strictly accurate Viking – Fighting tournament/archery comp – food provided (Banquet sat night)
bring own drink

Barryscourt 18th - 19th July
Paid €40 – Viking/Norman [high standard] – food provided
bring own drink

Killmallock 25th - 26th July
Norman mainly other period accepted -

Youghal 29th August
medren only gig – expenses covered – one day only

Let me know if you want to go to any or all of these or if I have forgotten any.

James

Well I'm going to Duncannon, would like to go to the Scout's gig and should be able to, similarly for Bunratty, Barryscourt and Youghal.

I also have an announcement about the bus for Duncannon: it will be leaving from UCC main visitor's entrance at 5:00pm sharp. I would like everyone going to be at the accom at 4:30, or as near to that as possible. We will have to pay for the ferry as we go, so we'll need to make sure we have money for that. Hope everyone who plans to go can make it...we'll also have to make sure about tents. Try and come!

Also, for the list of events: There is an event on in Blackrock Castle Observatory on Friday September the 11th, paying 30E each for about an hour's work. It will be a general 'medieval' theme, so Viking/Norman/whatever should be fine. They just want an old fashioned feel. We will be doing the following: an archery display (possibly also showing members of the crowd how to shoot) and a tournament. Anyone who can, please try and make it!

Blackrock sounds cool. I'm definately up for that.
