Dungarvan Museum 16th May
Hey there everyone.
I know this may be late for some of you, and some of you may have forgotten,
We are putting on a small display for the Dungarvan Museum on the 16th of May to celebrate the European Night of Museums.
It will be an all-night thing. starting late and going onto late.
It is due to start at 6pm, however I told her that we may arrive a little later. But 6pm should be the time. I might not make it till later.
We have been offered a sleeping space in the museum so bring sleeping bag.
We will be fed. If you are a veggie or have special dietary requirements, let me know now. I need to tell her within the next few days.
Anyhoo - we will be putting on a small display - perhaps a table showing various weapons, maybe some food-stuffs too. and some of us may do some various crafts (leather, textile, bone-working etc).
We may make it look like a small setting area - depending on what I can bring.
We will only be puting on one or two fight shows. these will be small due to the size of area of museum itself. Probably will be one on one fighting. So bring protective gear (bal-protector etc. - if modern make sure it can be covered)
You need to know stuff if you are coming so swat up.
I'l be there as will Kirsty and we'll probably give small lectures on various things, but you need to know too. It will reflect positively on us if you know, and very badly if you do not know.
Kit will be needed!!!! not rag-tag stuff, but passable kit. If you do not have any make some now, if you can't make some borrow some off of somebody who will lend it to you. Make sure you know what you have and need within the next few days.
Let me know what you'll be going as.
This may turn out to be an important gig for MedRen - it is an international event, so we may ger some good coverage for the event.
I know this is smack bang in the middle of the exams, but try and make it.
It does need to be small numbers - we can't fit around 15 people there. maybe keep it to around 6?
we will take public bus so pack everything well. Once I get numbers confirmed, I'll let you know about bus times etc.
Right, re-cap:
- small gig
- all-night
- we will get fed.
- have good kit
- be able to talk about the period you portray - you will get asked loads of questions.
- there will be small fighting going on.
- should be good.
ok, if you aren't wholly knowledgable, that's ok, i'll cover all that - just know some dates, etc - if need be some of us will teach you on the bus down.
BUT!!!
I do need numbers by Monday if possible. I have 4 confirmed but more will be needed.
This is a MedRen thing only too.
text me if you want to come......
NB Let me know sooner rather than later.
Thanks,
Andrew
